York County offers companies and their workforce better and more efficient access and transportation for their products and people. Ideally situated to give residents easy access to major interstate highways, ports, and an international airport, the beaches and the mountains, York County is the best of all worlds for business, for opportunity, and for life.

Airports
York County is a 30-minute drive and one plane change away from the rest of the world thanks to
Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. This facility averages 550 flights daily on eight major and four commuter carriers, providing non-stop or single plane service to more than 160 cities. Direct flights to London, Frankfurt and Munich offer international companies global air service. With 19 cargo airlines and over 60 freight forwarders, Charlotte cargo service offers less than 2 hour flight time to more than half the country's population as well as service to Europe, the Mideast, the Far East, South America and Mexico.

Within York County, The Rock Hill/York County Municipal Airport - Bryant Field is the major business and industrial airport serving the area. The new 5,500 sq. ft. terminal is IFR certified. The airport provides passenger and air freight service on demand, but has no scheduled air freight due to the close proximity of Charlotte/Douglas International.

Rail Services
Rail freight service is provided in York County by
CSX Transportation and the Norfolk Southern Railway. Amtrak passenger service is also available out of nearby Charlotte. Light Rail is in the planning stages for the entire Charlotte metro area.

Ports
The Port of Charleston (York County connects via I-77 & I-26, a 3 hour drive) features modern terminals and a well deserved reputation for high productivity. There are more than 350 highly experienced transportation related companies in the Charleston area to meet any shipping need.

Interstates
Interstate 77 provides a major thoroughfare connecting York County to Charlotte, North Carolina and to Columbia, South Carolina. $270 million in road funds were recently used to expand I-77 to 8 lanes for improved access between York County and metro Charlotte. Interstate 85 just north of York County, is an important link to Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro, North Carolina, and to Atlanta, Georgia. A planned beltway connecting I-85 to I-77 will provide York County with the best transportation links in the Charlotte region.
